The up and down ride continues for 3 Body Problem as Netflix mulls over a renewal for season 2 or possibly beyond. Now, after beating out Testament: The Story of Moses to, a few days later 3 Body Problem is down to #2 again, this time behind Files of the Unexplained, a UFO/ghost investigation series. Sure, why not.
3 Body Problem topped last week’s Netflix charts with 15.6 million views and 115,600 hours viewed. It’s a solid performance, but whether that’s solid enough for a season 2 for the show is unclear. Season 1 was the most expensive first season of a show Netflix has ever done at $20 million an episode, and future seasons with even more wild content would likely prove to be more.
As for the rest of the list, something called “Bad Dinosaurs” is #4, a Netflix original kids series starring well, bad dinosaurs, which has debuted pretty high. The Gentlemen continues its stellar run though again, it has not yet been renewed for season 2, even if it seems like it will be a sure thing. I am not sure what the hold up might be there, but I would expect that announcement to be coming in short order.
My eyes are on 3 Body Problem and The Gentlemen, both waiting for renewal. I think Netflix would be smart to do both.

3 Body Problem Tops Netflix Charts for Second Week3 Body Problem, the new sci-fi series from Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, is once again topping Netflix charts for the second week. Based on The Three-Body Problem by author Liu Cixin, the series marks Benioff and Weiss' first major undertaking since Game of Thrones ended in 2019. The world of 3 Body Problem is deeply rooted in complex sci-fi, with a twisting story that follows a group of scientists as they investigate an alien threat to Earth's very existence. Netflix has now released its global top 10 chart for the week of March 25 to March 31, and 3 Body Problem is now in the number 1 position after coming in second place the previous week. According to the data, the show brought in 15.6 million total views for the week with 115.6 million hours viewed. 3 Body Problem beats out the likes of Testament: The Story of Moses season 1 and The Gentlemen season 1
