It is the first film of a new trilogy and will be directed by. The second film in the trilogy is said to be directed by The Marvels’ Nia DaCosta. No word yet on who will oversee the final movie in the 28 Years Later trilogy.
Boyle, who directed 28 Days Later, and Garland, who recently directed 2024’s Civil War for A24, are both producing 28 Years Later alongside Andrew Macdonald, Peter Rice, and Bernie Bellew. Cillian Murphy, who played a bicycle courier named Jim in 28 Days Later, serves as an executive producer.
