The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Thursday identified the victim as Kayla Alexandria Warren. She was 28 and lived in Birmingham.Sgt. LaQuitta Wade said one of the victims was taken by private vehicle to Princeton Baptist Medical Center. The second was transported to UAB Hospital by Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service.Details surrounding the deadly shooting have not yet been released. There was also a report of shots fired into a nearby occupied home.
Warren is the city’s 103rd homicide this year. Of those, eight have been ruled justifiable and therefore aren’t deemed criminal.Police ask anyone with information or additional videos of the incident to call detectives at 205-254-1764 or Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
