Late 2022 has been a busy season for restaurant openings in North Texas.
The Giorgio sandwich at Olivella's new deli in Deep Ellum is stacked with Italian sliced beef, provolone, Crescenza-Stracchino cheese, shredded lettuce, tomato, red onion, hot peppers and sweet peppers. The deli is inside the existing Olivella's restaurant in Elm Street in Dallas and is among the 20 new restaurants that opened in North Texas in late 2022.
It was a years-long dream for owner Bobby Shuey to open a restaurant serving one of his favorite foods, and now he’s got The man who created Pei Wei and the guy who co-founded Chili’s have come together to start a new fast-food burger joint that they hope will someday compete with McDonald’s. If anyone can do it, perhaps it’s these two.
