'Forbidden, gay, everlasting...what more could you want in a romance?'
They were genuinely one of the most healthy, supportive pairings on the show. Not only was their relationship great lesbian representation, but Rasha was also Muslim and a Syrian refugee. Rasha helped Zoe accept herself and see that her homophobic mom was wrong, and Zoe helped Rasha get out of her shell.
They even won prom queens!"I just watched this show for the first time and wasn’t expecting such good representation and well-rounded LGBTQ characters from a show that debuted in the '90s. They were a really good representation of a young gay couple and both characters also had storylines outside of their relationship. My only issue was Tara falling victim to the trope of killing off LGBTQ characters.
