PARIT (Bernama): A 25-day-old baby boy was among three family members killed in a crash at KM47 of Jalan Ipoh-Lumut (Lumut bound) here Tuesday (March 10).
Perak Tengah district police chief Supt Barudin Wariso said the three victims were Zamzainal Ahmad Kusharay, 49; his mother-in-law Salmah Abdul Manap, 65, who both died at the scene; while Zamzainal's son, Mior Muhammad Qalish, died at the Changkat Melintang Hospital in Bota.
He said Zamzainal's wife, Nor Iashah Abd Rani, 32, and another son, Mior Mohamad Harraz, three, were also injured in the incident and were being treated at the Changkat Melintang Hospital. Barudin said the police received information about the incident at around 4pm and initial investigations at the scene found that the car driven by Zamzainal was travelling from Lumut to Ipoh.
"The car driven by Zamzainal, who worked at the Titi Gantong Agriculture Office in Bota, was believed to have gone out of control before skidding and hitting the road divider," he said, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 41 of Road Transport Act 1987 for dangerous driving. – Bernama
