The Longhorns’ offense—which had looked borderline unstoppable heading into the matchup—was unable to gain traction, leading to Ewers being benched in favor of fan-favorite Arch Manning in the second quarter. Ewers would return as the starter in the second half and play the remainder of the game. He finished with 211 passing yards, two touchdown passes, and an interception in the 30-15 loss.
No. 5 Texas’ season will continue with a trip to Nashville to play No. 25 Vanderbilt on Saturday, Oct. 26. Kickoff is slated for 3:15.
