The material is quite thin, which is what I like since I am a hot sleeper and thinner duvet covers tend to feel cooler, regardless of the thickness of duvet insert. I ordered a full/queen, and it fits beautifully on my queen bed. My duvet insert right now is an extremely light polyester material. It fits slightly loose but it doesn't bother me at all. It is actually good because that means for the winter I can put a much puffier, goose down inside the cover and it will fit great.
