BENTONG: A total of 231 locations across the country have been identified as frequent accident areas or “hotspots”, where monitoring will be stepped up under Ops Bersepadu JPJ held in conjunction with the Aidilfitri festival from April 18 to 27, said Transport Minister Anthony Loke.
“If an area has been identified as having frequent accidents, the approach is to station patrol cars to conduct patrols so that drivers will be more careful in the presence of enforcement officers.
Earlier in Putrajaya, Loke said a maritime single window system will be in place by the end of the year to boost ports’ efficiency and enhance the ease of doing business. He said having the system in place would also fulfil the requirements stipulated by the International Maritime Organisation for all of its members to have such a system by Jan 1, 2024.
