Cillian Murphy in a still from Wes Craven's Red Eye.
There's never a bad time to revisit Cillian Murphy's work, and the recent release and success of Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man will no doubt inspire audiences to dive into the rabbit hole. The Oscar-winner has certainly never made anyone feel left out; aside from something like A Minecraft Movie, he has dabbled in all sorts of genres.
Want an intimate drama in which Murphy does most of the communication wordlessly? Why not watch Small Things Like These? In the mood for a good, old-fashioned Irish black comedy? How about Intermission or Perrier's Bounty? But if The Immortal Man has left you wanting more a sinister Murphy, the right movie is just a click away. However, it's about to leave its current streaming home, so you might want to hurry. The movie in question was released over two decades ago, in 2005. It marked something of a creative departure for its director, Wes Craven, who was best known for his gleeful horror films. Murphy starred alongside Rachel McAdams, who only recently headlined another nail-biting thriller directed by genre maestro: Sam Raimi's Send Help. That movie quietly grossed nearly $100 million worldwide, which is significantly more than what 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple was able to. The Bone Temple served as a sequel to 28 Years Later, and set up a third movie that would've been headlined by Murphy. However, the film's disappointing box-office performance has put a question mark on the production of the follow-up. Related Whatchu Talkin' About, Willis? — The Collider TV Quiz!
