State officials are assisting with a necropsy to determine why the whale beached itself.
Flagler County Sheriff’s Office officials said marine biologists with SeaWorld Orlando and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will assist with a necropsy to determine why the whale beached itself.
A spokesperson with the sheriff’s office told KSAT SeaWorld Orlando is also helping remove the animal from the beach.states that orcas range in size from 23-32 feet and live an average of 50 to 80 years in the wild. Orcas are known to live in tight-knit family groups that share a specific sophisticated and unique culture that is reportedly passed down through generations, National Geographic reported.
