Here are the 10 NFL draft prospects who stood out on the first day of the 2026 Senior Bowl, including one Penn State star.
The American team practices for the Panini Senior Bowl on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026, at Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile, Ala. The Senior Bowl is underway with more than 100 of the top prospects in the 2026 NFL draft doing their best to impress scouts, coaches and executives.
Here are the 10 prospects who stood out most to me at Hancock Whitney Stadium on Tuesday, the first of three practice days ahead of Saturday’s Senior Bowl game.Parker was a projected top-10 pick in the preseason and lost that luster with a disappointing 2025 campaign. But Parker might solidify his first-round status if he keeps performing like he did on Tuesday — and he might move out of range for the Hurst isn’t a big name and doesn’t come from a big school. But the Valdosta State transfer made the biggest play of the day, somehow coming down with a one-handed touchdown grab on a deep ball. Hurst has draft riser written all over him. Edge rushers David Bailey and Romello Height received plenty of credit for how good Texas Tech’s defense was this past season, and deservingly so. But if there was any doubt, Hunter showed on Tuesday that he’s unblockable, too.Durant was lined up next to Hunter a few times, which posed a lot of problems for the National team offensive line. Durant was disruptive in 2024 and had a down year in 2025. The arrow is pointing up for Durant, who was shedding blocks all day.The only play that made as many jaws drop as Hurst’s catch was Moore steamrolling Miami tackle Markel Bell. When he gets a head of steam, look out. Fields is the most physically imposing receiver at the Senior Bowl, and he used all of his 6-foot-4, 218-pound frame during American team drills and one-on-one work. He dominated in the short to intermediate range, bullying corners out of position.Coleman was hit or miss this past season. He had five SEC games with 20 or fewer receiving yards. He also had 100-yard games vs. Oklahoma, Vanderbilt and Kansas. We saw the latter on Tuesday, making American DBs look silly out of the slot.Louis had 24 tackles for loss over the last two seasons. But it was his coverage skills against running backs that was impressive on Tuesday. Louis fits the mold of a nickel linebacker hybrid that NFL teams are looking more and more for now.It’s not a strong group of interior offensive lineman in Mobile. But Rutledge showed off his nastiness, playing through the whistle with a couple pancakes during the National team sessions. A mauler in every sense of the word.Tucker led the FBS with 21 tackles for loss this past season.
