2026 Rivian R2S: What we know so far:
is turning its sights on a new SUV called R2S, which will be smaller and cheaper to maximize its appeal. Details are murky, as the company has only confirmed that it will take the shape of a compact SUV, offer a similar adventure-seeking ethos as the larger models, and start at just $40,000.
Powertrain details have not been released, but we expect to see dual electric motors with standard all-wheel drive as well as a battery pack large enough for around 300 miles of driving per charge.The R2S will be a new model for Rivian when it goes on sale, which we estimate to happen in 2026. We expect to see the first glimpses of the upcoming SUV—and a potential R2T pickup truck—sometime in 2024.
