FIFA President Gianni Infantino, joined by former international soccer stars, announced the full match schedule on Saturday at 12 p.m. ET confirming venues, dates, and kickoff times for what will be largest World Cup to date.The expanded games features 104 matches, contested by 48 teams, across 16 host cities, in the United States, Canada and Mexico — marking the first time the tournament will be staged by three nations. While Saturday's announcement confirms the structure of the tournament, the final version of the schedule will not be fully confirmed until march, after the FIFA and UEFA playoff tournaments have taken place to determine the final six qualifying nations. The World Cup begins on June 11, 2026 with Mexico playing the opener in Mexico City and co-hosts USA and Canada hosting their openers in Los Angeles and Toronto a day later. The group stage lasts until June 27, then the top two teams in each group along with the eight best third-place finishers will advance to the Round of 32 beginning on June 28. The remaining winning teams will then play in the Round of 16 starting on July 4.
