Ole Miss pledge Abby Lynch-Buxton is hitting .480 with 12 home runs, 59 runs and 40 RBIs as a junior from the leadoff spot. Senior Molly Reid is hitting .425 with 10 home runs and a team-high 43 RBIs, and she hit a two-run homer in a 3-1 win over Snyder as Aubrey completed a two-game sweep of its state semifinal series. ... All-state shortstop Tamia Cherry missed most of the season with an elbow injury, but she returned for the playoffs and is hitting .444 with 12 runs and six RBIs in nine postseason games. ... Texas Woman’s University signee Mya Cherry is 25-1 with a 0.87 ERA and 228 strikeouts in 145 innings as a senior, and she is 55-7 over the last three years.d. Robinson has 70 home runs as a team, with Kaygen Marshall hitting 16 and Raelynn Van Zee hitting 11. Marshall is hitting .410 and ranks second on the team with 61 runs and 50 RBIs. She is 17-1 on the season, and in the playoffs she has allowed just five runs while striking out 61 in 33 innings and averaging 12.9 strikeouts per seven innings. Nutter has shared the pitching duties with sophomore Macie Bryant, who is 16-1. ... Coach Pat Eitel said he hasn’t decided if his starting pitcher Saturday will be senior Cailey Slade or sophomore Emmie Santos. Slade is 17-0 with a 2.06 ERA and Santos is 17-2 with a 1.38 ERA. Santos dealt with a shoulder issue toward the end of district play, but in the playoffs she pitched a shutout against Garland, threw a two-hitter against Langham Creek and was the winning pitcher with four innings of one-hit relief in a 6-3, eight-inning win over Guyer in Game 3 of the state semifinal series. Slade had a game-winning three-run inside-the-park home run in that win over Guyer. That came one game after Ryann Harris hit a three-run home run that was the difference in Forney’s 3-2 win in Game 2 of the series. ... Gagliardi is hitting .387 with five home runs, 13 runs and 18 RBIs in nine playoff games, and Sheppard is hitting .621 with two home runs, 16 runs and eight RBIs in that same span. Sophomore pitcher Hunter Quentel is 17-3 on the season, and she is 5-0 with a 0.85 ERA and 49 strikeouts in 33 innings in the playoffs. She is also hitting .467 with four home runs and 12 RBIs in the postseason.
