The all-new Nissan Patrol is here and it sends the strongest signal yet to the market that Nissan is moving toward a much more premium approach both in terms of design and features. We already knew the V8 was dead, but we can now confirm that Patrol will be powered by a mix of naturally aspirated and turbocharged petrol engines – a 3.8-litre naturally aspirated petrol V6 and a 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged petrol V6. There’s also a host of new technologies beneath the skin to get buyers excited.
Cooling has taken a big bump with the removal of belt driven cooling fans, instead the Patrol now uses a pair of electric fans and the largest cooling system on any Nissan product to date. Inside the cabin pneumatic massage seats bring up the feel and push the Patrol into the eyes of a Range Rover buyer with features like dual-14.3-inch displays that span over 28 inches across the dashboard.
