This performance-focused addition boasts a plug-in hybrid powertrain , delivering a combined output of 831 hp. The 2025 model year sees a slight price increase, starting at $200,100, including a $1,150 destination charge. The GT 63 S E Performance features a potent combination of a gasoline V-8 engine and an electric motor positioned at the rear axle.
A 9-speed automatic transmission handles the V-8's power, while a 2-speed automatic transmission manages the electric motor. A sophisticated all-wheel-drive system with a limited-slip differential ensures optimal traction and handling. The separate transmissions for the engine and electric motor allow AMG to finely tune torque delivery to the wheels, maximizing performance.Performance figures speak volumes about this hybrid marvel, boasting a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 2.8 seconds and a governed top speed of 197 mph. The electric motor alone provides 201 hp, and while the official range on electric power is estimated to be around seven miles, AMG emphasizes that the battery is optimized for high power output rather than long-distance electric driving. Furthermore, they can adjust regenerative braking intensity across four levels using a steering wheel button. The GT 63 S E Performance also features advanced suspension technology with load leveling and adaptive dampers, allowing for a customizable ride experience between comfort and sportiness. The braking system is equally impressive, equipped with bronze calipers, with 6-piston units at the front and a single floating caliper at the rear. 16.5-inch rotors up front and 15-inch rotors in the rear provide ample stopping power, further enhanced by 21-inch wheels shod in Michelin Pilot Sport tires
