2025 BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe Drops Camo, Reveals Controversial Grille Bars

Mercedes CLA rival’s grille bars are arranged vertically and diagonally, like on new 1-Series and X3

BMW ’s second-generation 2-Series Gran Coupe has been spotted, revealing its grille and bumper design and large digital dashboard. Slim grille features multi-directional grille bars like the new 1-Series and X3. Heavily revised version of current sedan shares its transverse-engined platform with the X1 and 1-Series hatch, but not the two-door 2-Series coupe.

And that includes the ugly placeholder mesh that previously covered the grille. With that removed we can see that the long, slim double-kidney opening will feature the same strange multidirectional grille bars we’ve already seen on recent new BMWs like the 1-Series and X1. The camouflage tape on some of the bars tries to trick us into thinking that they all point upwards, but closer inspection reveals that the bars at the outer edges run diagonally towards the headlights.
