USGA says advance sales are very strong and predicts the '24 event will be one of their best-attended women's open tournaments.LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — There's the U.S. Women's Open at Lancaster Country Club in 2015, the 2023 U.S. Women's Open at Pebble Beach and this year's event back in Lancaster County. That's it, that's the list of the three women's open tournaments with the largest amount of ticket sales in United States Golf Association history.
"They are by far the three best-attended Women’s Opens that we’ve had, so the community support here is tremendous and we thank you for that," said USGA Chief Commercial Officer Jon Podany.Describing the advanced ticket sales for this year's event as strong is an understatement. The 2015 event set a new standard for attendance by welcoming over 135,000 fans to Lancaster Country Club.
"If you talk to anybody that was here in 2015, they’ll tell you what an incredible scene this was," said USGA Chief Executive Officer Mike Whan."If you talk to anyone from inside the USGA, they remember this as being the standard setter for how a community rallied behind a championship. So it was a quick decision for us to say let’s get back and we are.”
The U.S. Women's Open starts with practice rounds at Lancaster Country Club on Tuesday, May 28 and Wednesday, May 29. The 156-player field will then have four rounds of competition to decide a winner from Thursday, May 30 through Sunday, June 2. U.S. Women's Open coming to Lancaster County in a matter of weeks
