The Japanese automaker looks back at this model's history with a special edition and some very unique touches car auto cars
Toyota’s GR lineup is getting a bunch of updates for the 2024 model year and the Supra is looking back to the past for inspiration. A new 45th Anniversary Edition includes visual callbacks to the previous generation and performance upgrades too.The Japanese automaker specifically says that this special edition is a tribute to
. To that end, it comes in two paint colors, Mikan Blast , and Absolute Zero . Toyota will paint 450 of the cars in one color and the other 450 in the other.Regardless of paint color, the 45th Anniversary GR Supra is going to come with matte black 19-inch wheels, black GR brake calipers, and a black Supra wordmark graphic on the side of the car. At the rear of each car one will find a black oversized manually-adjustable rear spoiler.
Over the decades the car has evolved from its debut in 1979 as the Celica Supra through multiple generations to the car it is now. Toyota says it’s now gone as far as to sell 100 of its Supra GT4 cars to customers that want to go racing around the world. That’s quite the success story regardless of how muchAs is the case with every Supra that Toyota sells, the buyer will get a complimentary 1-year membership to the National Auto Sport Association.
