76th Primetime Emmy Awards - Show“The Crown” went relatively quietly into TV history. Its final season earned three Emmys, two from the creative arts ceremony, and one Sunday.
Over six seasons, the Netflix drama earned 21 Emmys and a total of 87 nominations across all categories, including outstanding drama series in 2021. That year it didn’t have to go up against “Succession” or “Game of Thrones.” Premiering in 2016, Peter Morgan’s series depicted the life of Queen Elizabeth II from right before she became the monarch through the year 2005, when then-Prince Charles married Camilla Parker Bowles.
