Heather Hutt, left, and Adrin Nazarian appear poised to declare victory in their respective races for the LA City Council. While acknowledging that ballots are still being counted, Los Angeles City Councilwoman Heather Hutt, looking at a seemingly insurmountable lead in her race for the 10th District seat, stopped just short Wednesday of flat-out declaring victory.
“Our historic campaign has been humbling and inspiring as I became the first woman and first Black woman elected to this seat,” she added. “This achievement proves what we can accomplish when working together for our communities’ future.” Hutt led her challenger, attorney Grace Yoo, by 26.18%. Hutt has 49,401 votes, or 63.09%, while Yoo has 28,900, 36.91%, according to figures released Tuesday by the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk.
