Ausar Thompson’s shooting remains a question, and the fit is a little clunky with the other Pistons’ projected starters, as we saw in the summer league opener when the Pistons had near-zero spacing, so it’s going to be interesting to see where Detroit can best slot in his skill set. George wasn’t quite as good in the Salt Lake City games, and his overall percentage is more in line with expectations, but the sheer ability to get them up at this volume suggests something positive for this level.
Speaking of which … part of the reason he got them was because he generated separation so much easier as a result of slimming down. The ease of that separation might be more readily seen in another stat — he had 32 assists against just 11 turnovers after posting a 91-to-95 ratio in his lone college season.
