Breaking: Viktor Hovland wins 2023 Memorial Tournament
Tied at 7-under after a completed final round, Denny McCarthy will face Viktor Hovland in a playoff to determine a winner at the 2023 Memorial Tournament.Neither McCarthy or Hovland have participated in a playoff.
After hitting a nearly 14-foot putt on the 15th hole for par, McCarthy has recorded eight straight pars to stay at 8-under and keep the lead at the 2023 Memorial. Scheffler's birdie on 16 was on the second birdie on that hole today.Rory McIlroy's first birdie of the day gave him a one-stroke lead at the Memorial. A 22-foot putt moved McCarthy into a tie with McIlroy, sitting at 6-under after two holes in the final round of the Memorial.

Matsuyama bogeyed his first hole after recording a birdie twice in the first three times he's faced it. He sits at 3-under par.Morikawa withdrew from the tournament before taking the curse at 12:55 p.m. due to back spasms. Morikawa was tied for ninth at 4-under par with Keegan Bradley, Patrick Rodgers, Patrick Cantlay and Hideki Matsuyama.
Just like the first, second and third rounds, Rahm bogeyed the first hole Sunday, moving him to 1-under par overall and into a tie for 30th. Scheffler made up ground Saturday, Starting the first two rounds of the tournament at 3-over par, Scheffler finished the third round 4-under with five birdies, including three consecutive birdies on the 13th, 14th and 15th holes.Coming into the final round of the 2023 Memorial at 2-over par, Luke List is off to a hot start Sunday.
