2023 inflation rate could reach projected 3.1%, Rafizi says

Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli says the national inflation rate could reach a projected 3.1 to 3.3% this year if the monthly inflation rate remains subdued. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, March 27, 2023.

“About six months from the highest level in September and based on other figures published by the Statistics Department, the signs showed we were passing the peak of the increase in the prices of goods. “If we look at this pattern with some data that show there are signs production costs are decreasing, it means we are on track in that direction. Of course there are other factors.“Supply disruption is already in the government’s planning through a medium-term initiative that focuses on increasing the supply capacity of raw materials to users,” he said.
