Should you buy the Ford Edge before it’s phased out or stick with the freshly updated Chevrolet Blazer?
. Read on to find out if you should snap up a 2023 Edge before it's gone or pick the recently updated Blazer. The 2023 Ford Edge is a sharp-looking SUV, but the second-generation model's design is showing its age. As you may expect since it's the older vehicle, the Ford Edge's exterior styling looks old compared to the 2023 Chevrolet Blazer's fresher sheetmetal.
We've complained about the Ford Edge's transmission tuning and the Chevrolet Blazer's inability to lay the power down when equipped with front-wheel drive, so neither midsize SUV's drivetrain lineup receives perfect marks. In our testing, both the Ford Edge ST and V-6 Blazer sprinted from 0 to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds, but the Blue Oval ultimately wins in this category due to its potent engines and standard all-wheel-drive setup across the entire model range.
Ford equips the Edge with a standard 12.0-inch infotainment touchscreen that also comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Instead of having just one 4.2-inch instrument cluster display, the Edge comes standard with dual 4.2-inch units. Like the Blazer, the Edge comes standard with six-speaker audio, but the Titanium and ST trims are equipped with a 12-speaker B&O arrangement. A Wi-Fi hot spot is standard, and wireless charging is available.
