"It's been a rough year, and it just continues to go up every year," said Renee Fox, an Austin police detective whose duties include responding to crash scenes and notifying relatives that their loved ones have died. Two people were killed while on scooters. One of them was 32-year-old Adam Gaconnet. He was riding home from work on East Seventh Street when a suspected drunken driver crashed into him.Adam Gaconnet, 32, loved working music festivals and being a graffiti artist, according to his obituary.
