A second-team All-State pick, Nazier Mule is drafted by Chicago Cubs

He went about his business, focusing on helping Passaic Tech win baseball games.
“I was just focused on getting a win for my team. People were watching every game, but at the end of the day all that mattered was what you do for your team,” Mule recently told NJ Advance Media.A Shore graduate, Fred Kampf holds a distinct honor when it comes to the MLB DraftThe University of Miami commit was selected by the Cubs in the fourth round of the annual draft on Monday. He was the 113th overall pick in the three-day event which started Sunday.
A participant in the MLB Draft Combine last month in San Diego, Mule enjoyed a solid senior season as an infielder and also as the team’s designated hitter. He was named to the All-State second team for the second straight year, leading Passaic Tech with 44 hits, eight home runs and 37 RBIs. He batted .427 and also collected nine doubles, three triples and 33 runs scored.Mule was limited on the mound, throwing just 13 innings. The right-hander struck out 29, walked six and posted a 3.23 ERA.
