2022 Kia Telluride's Instrument Cluster Could Go Blank | Carscoops carscoops
Like many other current Kia models, the Telluride sports a large digital instrument cluster and while it looks the part, it has an issue. A notice issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reveals that excess adhesive was applied to a circuit board within the instrument cluster.
This excess adhesive may lead to a poor electrical connection and trigger the display to go blank, removing the driver’s ability to see the odometer.Due to this issue, subject vehicles fail to comply with the visibility requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 101, §S5.1.2. The recall notice confirms that the problem does not impact the vehicle’s underlying systems of dedicated warning lights. An investigation has revealed that an incorrect die applicator at a supplier is the cause of the issue.models were built between September 9, 2021, and March 14, 2022. In total, 2,761 vehicles have been recalled. Kia will notify all affected owners by first-class mail with instructions to bring their vehicles to a local Kia dealership. Dealers will be instructed to replace the instrument cluster assembly with a new one and any owners that have previously paid to have the issue repaired will be reimbursed.announced the 2023 Telluride for the North American market. A handful of changes have been made to the vehicle, including the fitment of new vertical headlights with standard LED bulbs and fog lights. There are also updated taillights, revised bumpers, a tweaked rear fascia, and a new grille. Those looking to pick up the keys to a new Telluride can also have it finished in Midnight Lake Blue, Dawning Red, and Jungle Wood Green.
