Giants general manager Dae Gettleman said this year's draft class is loaded in talent. In this four-round mock draft, we try to match talent and need with value.

The Giants have needs—lots of needs—on their roster, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. But it’s not just the defensive side of the ball where this year’s draft class is loaded. The general consensus is that this is a great year to grab a receiver, a tight end, and an offensive tackle .

Lastly, I went with what I would do if I were the general manager based on the team's needs and my research on the available options and what players I didn't think would be on the board when the Giants pick in each round came up. If the Cardinals go Murray and the 49ers select Ohio State edge rusher Joey Bosa, the Jets would be up next on the clock. Per multiple reports, the Jets have apparently fallen in love withAfter the Jets are Oakland and Tampa Bay. Presumably, both of those teams are looking to dip into the defensive side of the ball, but the NFL Network has reported that the Raiders are said to be, which could rule out Kentucky’s Josh Allen or Alabama’s Williams if both are still on the board.

If Williams is sitting there at No. 6, I can’t see any way the Giants skip over him for any other player on the board. If Dalton Risner is sitting there at No. 19, he’s my pick. The Giants need to finish the rebuild of the offensive line, and Risner’s versatility is just too attractive to pass over at that spot if he’s sitting there.

The Giants have youngster Sam Beal, their third-round pick in last year’s Supplemental Draft and a player whom Dave Gettleman said would have had a second-round grade this year if he was coming out in this draft. Ya-Sin, like most NFL rookies, is going to need some polish added to his skill set, but he has the tools there to ultimately become an integral part of a Giants defensive backfield that’s been quietly transitioning to a youth movement.

Although his scouting report notes that he might not be an ideal fit for a 3-4 standup outside linebacker, it needs to be remembered that the Giants, like most teams, are usually in sub packages more often than they are in their base., might be a little more polished at this point playing against the run, where he doesn’t allow defenders to lock onto him and gets himself into position to make stops—he has 43.0 career tackles for a loss.

Arcega-Whiteside took a significant leap forward in his production from his junior to senior seasons. Playing in just one more game last year than he had as a junior, Arcega-Whiteside upped his receptions from 48 to 63; his receiving yardage from 781 to 1,059 and his touchdowns from 9 to 14.
