The singer shared a touching story about a teacher who helped change the trajectory of his life and influenced his current work.

Pitbull shared that he never had the chance to finish high school due to moving around and attending “25 different schools.” During his speech, the singer mentioned the “hope” a specific teacher gave him to want to do better and change his life. “When I was hopeless, she gave me hope; ironically, her name is Hope Martinez,” he continued. “She looked me straight in my face when I was being a knucklehead and said, ‘I believe in you,’ and that changed my life.”
The singer continued, explaining that he enjoys investing in the future of children and that his fans help support them, making them a part of the “SLAM!” family.
