A college student was hospitalized after a devastating Nov. 21 crash in San Mateo.

A crash earlier in San Mateo left a college student in “excruciating pain” in a hospital ICU, according to an online fundraising page set up to help her.says Michelle Urzua, 20, and a friend were driving down El Camino Real around 1 a.m. Nov. 21 when they were allegedly struck by what the listing says was a drunk driver.

The proceeds from the GoFundMe were earmarked to go to Urzua’s recovery expenses. As of Tuesday morning, the post received more than $12,000 in donations, more than half of its goal. San Mateo police did not immediately respond to a Bay Area News Group request for comment on Tuesday morning.
