A 20-year-old man was fatally shot by Wetumpka police officers early Thursday after authorities say he brandished a gun at them.

Officers were responding to a call of a person with a firearm at 597 Elmore Road in Wetumpka, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Once on the scene, ALEA said, a foot pursuit ensued before Jabarie Camron Bozeman, of Eclectic, brandished the gun.No officers were injured.The State Bureau of Investigation is leading the probe. Once it is complete, the findings will be turned over to the Elmore County District Attorney’s Office.
