20-year-old driver killed in crash off north I-5 near Oceanside [Breaking]
A 20-year-old woman died early Wednesday after her sedan veered off north Interstate 5, went down an embankment and overturned, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The driver was heading north on I-5 just south of Oceanside Boulevard in a Nissan Altima around 6:15 a.m. when the crash occurred, CHP Officer Hunter Gerber said in a statement.Gerber said the driver was in a lane third from the center divide when she went off the roadway and down an embankment. CHP officers, as well as Oceanside police and Oceanside firefighters, responded to the scene but the driver died before she could be taken to a hospital.Anyone with information about the crash was asked to call the CHP at 643-3400.
