LOS ÁNGELES (AP) — “20 Days in Mariupol” (“20 días en Mariúpol”) de Mstyslav Chernov, un desgarrador relato en primera persona de los primeros días de la invasión rusa de Ucrania en 2022, ganó el Oscar al mejor largometraje documental el domingo por la noche.

La producción conjunta de The Associated Press y la serie “Frontline” de PBS, le valió premios a Chernov, la productora y editora Michelle Mizner y la productora Raney Aronson-Rath.
Sólo unos 40 minutos de video llegaron al mundo en tiempo real por la falta de internet y electricidad, pero cuando Chernov y sus colegas finalmente pudieron irse de la ciudad, decidieron que necesitaban hacer algo con las 30 horas que tenían grabadas. Chernov, que nació en Ucrania, también narró el documental.
