A number of stops will not be served
Officials from Nottingham's tram operator say passengers will face around two weeks of disruption as 'vital' works are undertaken on the network. NET says that tracks are being replaced at the Forest tram stop between August 18 and August 31.
There will be no tram services between Wilkinson Street and the Old Market Square whilst these works take place, with a dedicated bus replacement service operating between these stops. Normal services will eventually resume on September 1. As well as the track replacement works, NET says preparatory works will also need to be carried out overnight between August 7 and August 17. This work will take place at the Forest tram stop along Noel Street, opposite the tram stop.NET said: "Noise mitigation measures will be in place, but you may experience some noise during the works - we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
The main track replacement works will take place during both the day and night. Describing the need for the work, NET added: "The work is required to replace tracks which have been in place since 2004 as part of planned infrastructure renewals that are vital for the safety and reliability of future tram services."
