The 2 ostriches that were seen running loose on Tuesday are no longer in the Quezon City village and their owner remains unidentified, according to the city's veterinary office.
MAYNILA — Wala na sa village sa Quezon City ang 2 ostrich na nag-viral matapos makuhanang tumatakbo sa lugar nitong Martes, ayon sa mga opisyal.
Kinumpirma rin ni Ana Cabel mula sa veterinarian's office ng siyudad na nakausap nila ang katiwala ng may-ari ng 2 ostrich at tumangging sabihin kung nasaan ang mga hayop at tanging transport permit lang mula sa DENR ang naipakita. "Kasi transport 'yan eh, kailangan from where to where ... ang tanong ... paano napunta 'yan sa QC 'yan. Kaya titingnan din natin sino ang nag-issue ng transport permit na 'yan," ani Antiporda.Patuloy pa rin ang imbestigasyon ng dalawang opisina hinggil sa naturang insidente.Ayon kay Cabel, hindi maayos ang lote na tinirahan ng mga ostrich at hindi sang-ayon sa ostrich brooding management protocols ng Philippine Ostrich and Crocodile Farms Inc, partikular sa espasyo.
"Mayroon tayong endangered species, this shall promote a negative impact to the biodiversity. Kasi first of all, 'yung mga endangered species natin ginagawang pet sa bahay na para bang trophy nila without even thinking about the situation of the animal," ani Antiporda. "Maaaring katuwaan lamang ang pag-keep ng exotic animals sa isang kolektor ngunit nagsa-suffer ang mga ostriches when they are kept as pets," aniya.
