Longtime ESPN director Kyle Brown, who worked for the network for 16 years, died “unexpectedly” Saturday after suffering a “medical emergency” at an NCAA baseball tournament in North Carolina.

Brown grew up in Washington Courthouse, Ohio, south of Columbus.

“I sat in the television truck and said ‘Man, that’s cool how they do that’ and ever since then I fell in love with it,” Brown said inWhile at Ohio State, he gained experience working for ESPN and ABC on broadcasts of Buckeyes games in Columbus., ESPN lauded Brown’s achievement and expressed sympathy to his family.
