Lee McCulloch was buzzing his old team eased the pressure on Michael Beale as Roofe and Lundstram especially impressed.
Lee McCulloch named John Lundstram and Kemar Roofe as his two Rangers heroes against Real Betis. But his praise did not extend to Jose Cifuentes after one 'unacceptable' first-half moment.
He said on BBC Sportsound: "I thought Lundstram was very, very good tonight. Yes, slack at times, but you could say that about the other midfielders. Roofe was the man of the match, it's a hard role to play especially when the defence is so deep but he ran his socks off. If he starts on Sunday after covering that amount of ground...I'd suggest it might be Dessers who starts Sunday. But I thought he was absolutely brilliant tonight.
He said oncommentary during the game: "Cifuentes gives the ball away, Betis go on the counter-attack and he jogs back in. He gets caught on the ball and jogs. For me, that is unacceptable."
