BREAKING UPDATE: Two men who went missing on a sailboat that left New Jersey and was headed for the Florida Keys have been found safe, family members confirmed with NBC10.
The family member of Kevin Hyde, 64, and Joe DiTommasso, 76, said they received a call from the U.S. Coast Guard at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday stating that both men were picked up by a tanker who spotted them waving flags.
Both men are doing okay but appeared exhausted, according to the family member.The 30-foot Catalina sailboat was traveling from Cape May, New Jersey, to Marathon, Florida.The boat and men then went missing on December 3 after they departed Oregon Inlet, North Carolina, on their way to Jupiter, Florida.
