Couple carjacked by men with AK-47s at north Houston gas station
A couple was carjacked by two men with AK-47s Saturday night at a gas station in north Houston.
The couple were inside their Chevrolet Tahoe at a gas pump about 11:30 a.m. when two men, both toting AK-47 assault rifles, ran up and pulled them out at a gas station near July Street and Aldine Westfield Road, Houston police told Metro Video. The carjackers fired shots at the couple and hit the husband in the head with the butt of of a gun, police said. He was bleeding badly from the head when paramedics arrived and is expected to survive, though it was unclear whether his injuries came from a bullet wound or the butt of the gun.
The carjackers took off in the couple's Chevrolet, leaving the stolen pickup truck they came in behind, police said. That pickup was turned over to the Harris County sheriff's office, and the incident is still under investigation.
