Two people were injured early Friday after an argument led a shooting in southeast Houston, near the Gulf Freeway, police said. An officer was driving around 12:15 a.m. in the 5100 block of Broadway Street when a woman who had been shot flagged her down, Lt. Ronnie Willkens, of the Houston Police Department, told Metro Video Services reporters.Officers then found another man who had been shot in the leg nearby. Both people were transported to a hospital, but were expected to survive, Willkens said.

Investigators believe the two people were part of a group of homeless people living under a nearby bridge, Willkens said. After an ongoing argument earlier than evening, a man had shot both of them before fleeing the scene. Police had identified a suspect in connection to the shooting, but had not made any arrests as of Friday morning.
