Following last week's midseason premiere, Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage Season 2 is upping the stakes this coming Thursday on CBS, and it's brought in a few reinforcements to help do so. Episode 12, titled"The G Word and a Blaspheming Bimbo," will find Mandy in hot water after a controversial on-air remark at the news station that, if the title is any indication, won't leave her in good standing with the churchgoers of the community.
Not only does the debacle jeopardize her job, but it also threatens Georgie's shop and the reputation of the entire family. Ahead of the episode, Collider can exclusively share a new sneak peek that shows what could be the incident that sets up her big mistake with a push from two Young Sheldon stars. In the footage, Mandy is dropping off a load of cans for the church's food drive, which means a run-in with Georgie's mother, Mary . She's grateful for the donation, though she admits she'd be a little more grateful if CeeCee were with her for a little quality grandmother-granddaughter time. As Mandy unloads the goods, Pastor Jeff makes an appearance and is as keen as ever to shill for the man upstairs. Before Mandy can quickly get away from the two of them, he quickly mentions the upcoming church carnival and how"newsworthy" the event is, not so subtly pushing for a little coverage on their local station. Pastor Jeff then gets desperate after Mary spells it out and insists that all the money goes to charity. Mandy relents and agrees to at least run it by her bosses, though Mary nearly blows it and sparks an argument with the pastor after asking if Mandy could wear something a bit more modest when promoting the church function. Given the description of the episode, it's safe to assume something goes very hilariously wrong while Mandy is covering the church carnival, and who better to be there and judge her than Georgie's mom and their slimy pastor? Although Young Sheldon came to an end back in 2024, Hobby and Perry have both been regular guests on Georgie & Mandy since its inaugural run. Season 2, Episode 12, will mark Hobby's sixth appearance so far and Perry's 12th, after last showing up for the family's disaster vacation in the midseason finale. This won't be the last viewers see of Mary either, as she's set to return for an episode packed with Young Sheldon alumni in a few weeks. A report back in February confirmed that Episode 18 will see the return of Lance Barber as George Sr., presumably in another dream sequence, as well as Raegan Revord, Doc Farrow, and, in their Georgie & Mandy debut, Rex Linn as Principal Petersen. The network unsurprisingly renewed the sitcom for Season 3 during its midseason break, rewarding the consistent viewership success of its top comedy. All of Rachel Bay Jones, Will Sasso, Dougie Baldwin, and Jessie Prez will be back alongside Jordan and Osment for more stories of the couple and their young family navigating the many trials of adulthood and parenting. As long as the show continues to run, viewers can expect more appearances from other Young Sheldon cast members to keep the Cooper family in the picture. The spin-off of a spin-off won't be the lone show in the Big Bang Theory universe before long, though. HBO will also take the franchise into the future sometime this year with Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, a much zanier series following Stuart Bloom on a quest to save reality after accidentally causing a multiversal disaster. As the title suggests, just about everything goes wrong along the way, but he fortunately has a few allies joining him, including fellow Big Bang alumni Lauren Lapkus, Brian Posehn, and John Ross Bowie.
