Authorities say the children's dad was at the home during the fire and was able to get out uninjured.
GALVESTON, Texas -- Two small children were killed in an apartment fire on Saturday morning in Galveston, authorities say.
Authorities say the children's dad was at the home and was able to get out uninjured. He was also treated at the hospital. A neighbor of the family, Warren Lines, said he heard a beating on his back door as he was getting ready for bed. Lines thought he was about to be robbed, so he talked through his door, and the person on the other side said to call the fire department because his neighbor's house was burning.
