The new ABC comedy sitcom Shifting Gears, starring Tim Allen, will feature a 2 Broke Girls reunion for Kat Dennings. ABC's comedy slate is going through a bit of change. Even though Abbott Elementary season 4 is going strong, with a debut set for October 9, the network is losing The Conners which will be entering its seventh and final season.
Deadline reports that Michelle Nader is the new showrunner of Shifting Gears, taking over for writers and executive producers Mike Scully and Julie Thacker Scully following their exits. Nader, a veteran television writer and producer, previously worked with Dennings on 2 Broke Girls and the short-lived Hulu series Dollface. Production on the ABC show is set to begin in November.
