It will be able to cater for many more students
A Nottinghamshire school has officially opened its new building following a £2.6m extension. Students, staff and governors of South Nottinghamshire Academy, based in Radcliffe on Trent, attended the site for a tour of the new facilities.
The ground floor of the Maple building contains five classrooms which will be used by the humanities faculty. Whereas the first floor has three classrooms, two of which are for ICT, as well as two smaller seminar classrooms and a common room area.
The building was built by the contractor G F Tomlinson with Pulse Consultants managing the project. Construction work began on the site in Spring 2022, with workers spending a total of 33,515 hours on the site, 530 tonnes of concrete being poured and 148 glazed panels being installed.
