Colin Martin, 19, of New York, was swimming with a 17-year-old New York resident on July 7 when they both became distressed as they tried to swim back to the shore of the Kent Avenue beach in Bradley Beach shortly before 6 p.m., Bradley Beach Police Chief Leonard Guida said.Multiple rescue agencies were able bring the 17-year-old swimmer to shore, but Martin went under the waves for about 20 minutes before he was found and pulled out, Guida said.
