LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — An Elizabethtown woman is facing involuntary manslaughter charges following a multi-vehicle crash in Lancaster County. , on April 15, Molly Duffy, 19, was involved in a three-vehicle crash. The crash reportedly involved Duffy's car and two motorcycles and occurred when Duffy made a left turn from Turnpike Road onto River Road in front of the two motorcyclists.
One driver struck Duffy's car and was thrown from his motorcycle, sustaining serious injuries. The other motorcyclist,, 37, had disengaged from his bike and became trapped under Duffy's car as it rotated from the first impact, according to a criminal complaint. He was killed. Duffy agreed to a voluntary blood draw and was found to be under the influence of marijuana, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
The injured motorcyclist allegedly told police that he saw Duffy hesitate at the intersection before beginning her left turn, but he says he did not see her stop. The intersection of Turnpike Road and River Road is controlled by a stop sign. On Nov. 7, Duffy appeared at MDJ Randall Miller's Office on charges of involuntary manslaughter, driving under the influence of controlled substances and careless driving resulting in serious bodily injury.
