Nakauwi na noong Sabado sa kani-kanilang mga pinanggalingang bayan ang 19 manggagawa matapos ma-stranded sa Boracay island bunsod ng mahigpit na border restrictions sa mga probinsiya sa Western Visaya

Sa tulong ng public employment service office at lokal na pamahalaan ng Malay, Aklan — na nakakasakop sa Boracay — nabigyan ng travel pass ang mga manggagawa para makauwi sa kanilang mga pamilya sa Pandan, Antique at Numancia, Aklan. Pitong manggagawa mula sa kabuuang 1,200 na-stranded ang nakatakdang umuwi sa Balete, Aklan sa Martes, sabi ni Malay Acting Mayor Frolibar Bautista.

"Dapat itong mga stranded, kumuha muna sila ng certification sa kanilang barangay o municipality na tanggapin sila doon kasi nalagay ko sa travel pass na once nakaalis sila ng Malay, hindi na sila makababalik dito," ani Bautista. Patuloy umanong ang pakikipag-ugnayan ng Malay PESO sa mga lokal na pamahalaan para matulungang makauwi ang stranded workers.Nagpadala naman ng pera at relief packs ang iba't ibang provincial government sa Western Visayas region sa mga na-stranded na manggagawa, ayon kay Bautista."Antay-antayin lang nila. Hihingi ako ng permission sa may IATF Region 6 kung... kahit pakaunti-kaunti, makapasok sila," ani Cadiao.
