CLEVELAND, Ohio - Low pressure over Kentucky this morning will track into western Pennsylvania by this evening. Expect a round of rain to develop midday through the afternoon. The rain will be mainly light. High temperatures today 47 to 52 degrees. Areas of drizzle early this evening, otherwise mostly cloudy.
Much colder air will build in tomorrow. Another low pressure system tracks well east of us up the Eastern U.S. A winter mix early tomorrow morning transitions over to some snow. Most of the snow will be light and occurs the first half of the day. A Trace to 2 inches of snow area wide. Afternoon temperatures tomorrow will be in the 30s. It turns windy tomorrow afternoon with a west wind gusting over 30 mph at times.
Bitter cold and lake effect snow will get established later tomorrow and Wednesday evening. A west steering wind will produce heavy snow in parts of Lake and Ashtabula Counties. The wind direction will be crucial to see if the worst of the snow squalls remains offshore or in far northeast Ohio. The team will be nowcasting this closely. Scattered snow showers and flurries elsewhere with some Lake Michigan moisture sneaking in. A west wind will gust over 35 mph at times.
Bitter cold and windy Thursday. Lake effect snow hugging the lakeshore of Lake and Ashtabula Counties. The sun will shine outside of the lake effect zone.
